Slightly off-topic but I'd thought I'd share this video. It's from the set of Norman Mailer's film 'Maidstone' which is entirely famous for one single incident. For some reason, actor Rip Torn decided to take it upon himself and kill Norman Mailer. In the script he was supposed to kill Mailer's character, but Mailer did not resolve the scene and finished shooting. Rip still wants to film the scene and decides to attack Mailer with a hammer (drawing blood) and then tries to bite off his ear in the ensuing scuffle. Good piece of improv/method acting?
Got to love the 70's and filmmakers and actors from the era losing their minds in pursuit of a great film!
Good ol' Rip.
