Shao Fei

'Born 1954 in Beijing. In 1979, she joined a group of young artists known as the “Stars” who made history by hanging their politically incorrect paintings and sculptures outside the China National Gallery. It was the first unauthorized exhibition of Chinese art since 1949 and set the stage for freedom of artistic expression in China.'
