Utagawa Kuniyoshi

Here are some classic ukiyo-e prints from master printer Utagawa Kuniyoshi.

And here are some prints by him of racoons performing tasks and going about their daily lives using their gigantic testicles and scrotum. I don't get it either...

Hey Tom - if you're following Zack's blog, you might have already seen this

I LOVE this; while the course has a strong narrative slant, there's always room for some abstract 'artier' stuff - especially of the speculative, interdisciplinarian variety; I wonder what you'll make of it? I just find it very spatial and evocative - but then, I am the guy who loves those 'black line' animations of Norman Mclaren; talking of which, I'm currently creating new visuals for the course's promotional material 2009/10 and the spirit of Mclaren looms large...

as for the enormous testicles, I'm looking to you to find the cultural significance for it; consider yourself challenged, and I look forward to enlightement...
