Animation Project: Osamu Tezuka's Dororo

Disney inspired classic Japanese Animation based on the Manga written by Osamu Tezuka. Tezuka was a massive fan of Disney animation and when you read his Manga or watch the animations that are based from from his works its quite easy to spot the similarities in style. Tezuka hid deep and often dark stories behind his somewhat 'cute' looking drawing style. 'Dororo' is a story about a boy who is born missing 48 (If I remember correctly) body parts after his father offers him as a sacrifice to demons in order to gain wealth and power. If you read the Manga then you'll see a lot of Snow White and Seven Dwarfs looking characters, from what little I've seen of the original Anime I think it loses a bit of this style, which is too bad, but by the looks of things the unmade colour version seems a lot closer to the original source material.
